  1. Information System for Reporting Scientific Publications and Scientometric Indicators with Automated Bibliographic Verification

    A. Madzharov, N. Chehlarova, I. Gaidarski

ICAICTSEE 2026 — 16th Int. Conf. on Application of Information and Communication Technology and Statistics in Economy and Education, UNWE, Sofia — Conference Proceedings

Research reporting relies on bibliographic descriptions and on the scientometric indicators computed from them, so an error in a record propagates directly into the indicators. The paper presents an information system for entering, verifying and reporting scientific publications and scientometric indicators, developed at the Institute of Robotics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences within the National Scientific Program “Security and Defence”. Its rules are divided into automatic (deterministic) and automated (proposed by the system and confirmed by a human) checks; records are verified against APA 7 and global metadata sources, and the system learns by accumulating rules and confirmed exceptions. The report computes BAS report categories, SJR and impact-factor totals and the share of institute authors, supported by an automated registry of co-author affiliations. A static-site technology with reviewed, automated deployment minimises the attack surface, and published images are processed and protected against downloading; the measures are mapped to the GDPR and ISO/IEC 27001/27701. The system is in operational use for the public report of 48 programme publications. A rule-based model for calculating indicators under the Bulgarian minimum national requirements for academic positions (field 5, Technical Sciences) is proposed; it is implemented together with automated discovery and verification of citations, excludes works presented in earlier procedures according to the NACID register and proposes a strategy for the next position. The evaluation shows a proposed indicator for all 61 discovered citations and agreement with 28 of 28 manually verified citations and with 14 of 14 publications of a procedure registered with NACID. The source code and data are deposited in Zenodo.

  2. Application of Kummer's Equation for Flight Between Two Geodesic Orthodromes in a Coordinated Turn

    A. Madzharov

AMiTaNS 2026 — IOP Publishing, Journal of Physics: Conference Series

A coordinated turn between two adjacent orthodromes is described by a clothoid on the WGS 84 ellipsoid. The heading equations reduce to a special case of Kummer's confluent hypergeometric equation, giving a closed-form heading law that lets the FMS compute turn duration and roll rate in advance.

  3. Precise Calculations of Gravity Anomalies from the Geometric Height for Autonomous Air Navigation

    A. Madzharov

AMiTaNS 2026 — IOP Publishing, Journal of Physics: Conference Series

An analytical gravity model on WGS84 constants with an exact geometric relation for the vertical line. It matches WGS84/Somigliana within ±1.5 mGal at sea level and removes a latitude-dependent bias of up to 260 mGal at altitudes up to 10 km.

  6. Method for design of information security system for sensitive data leak prevention

    Gaidarski, I.

Journal of Data Science and Intelligent Systems (JDSIS), Bon View Publishing Pte Ltd.

This article proposes a top-down method for designing an information security system (ISS) that prevents the leakage of sensitive information outside the organization. The method combines systems analysis with the IEEE 1471 and ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010 architecture description standards to construct stakeholder-specific conceptual models and a multi-layered conceptual ISS architecture. Two formal transformations are defined: T₁ converts the conceptual model into an object-oriented model represented via the Unified Modeling Language (UML), while T₂ converts this model into an agent-based simulation model. The method is compared against NIST Special Publication 800-37, the ISO/IEC 27005:2022 standard, the SABSA (Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture) framework, and the TOGAF framework (Table 1). A one-year field study across seven organizations (five public and two private)—in which the ISS was implemented on a Data Leak Prevention (DLP) platform—demonstrated an average 42.1% reduction in policy violation incidents (Wilcoxon criterion W = 0, p = 0.016, effect size dz = 3.50 for paired samples), as well as an increase in the composite ISO/IEC 27004-based compliance score from 18.7% to 86.4%. An agent-based prototype (implemented in the NetLogo environment, using 50 Monte Carlo simulations) reproduces a reduction in the same direction and of comparable magnitude in a simulation environment (in silico). In compliance with the study's ethical approval requirements, all results

  7. Design of Information Security Systems for internal threat protection

    Gaidarski, I. & Madzharov, A.

Springer series “Communications in Computer and Information Science”, Springer series “Communications in Computer and Information Science”

The article discusses a method for designing and creating an information security system (ISS) in organizations. The method considers different viewpoints on the system, presenting different requirements for it from dif-ferent specialties involved in the design of the system. The problem with the participation of different specialists comes from the fact that they are expressed through different means of expression (contracts, laws, descrip-tions, engineering drawings, program code, etc.). In addition, different terms are used, which may have different meanings in different specialties. There-fore, when designing an ISS, it is vital to use a method that translates all re-quirements into a single universal language understandable to all special-ties. Such a method for designing an ISS in organizations is presented be-low. We have called the method "Reversed Tower of Babylon", which does the opposite of the legend of the Tower of Babel - unifies the language so that it is understandable to all specialists involved in the design of the ISS. The method provides platform independence, through which systems are created that are independent of specific platforms and environments and fulfil the conditions set for them. The article discusses the design and im-plementation of ISS to protect against internal threats in a given organiza-tion with a focus on the human factor as a threat, or the so-called insiders. The system is based on a Data Leak Prevention (DLP) environment.
